Lori Pbert, PhD
Dr. Pbert is a clinical psychologist and behavioral scientist with over 30 years of experience designing and testing practical, real-world approaches to integrate health behavior change interventions within existing health care practice to inform evidence-based guidelines, best practices, and policy. She is a tenured Professor and Associate Chief of the Division of Preventive and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Pbert’s NIH-funded research program is in obesity and tobacco prevention and treatment with a focus on youth and families, and in the application of mindfulness training for health behavior change and chronic care management. She is a founding member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Center for Child Health Research Tobacco Consortium and a Fellow in the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
